Dr. Kimberly A. Garvin graduated from Life Chiropractic College in Marietta, Georgia, in 1985 with two separate degrees: Doctor of Chiropractic and Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Nutrition. Dr. Garvin then moved to Sarasota, Florida, where she obtained her state license and started practicing.
In her continued pursuit of education, Dr. Garvin attended numerous seminars, completed a three-year post graduate program in Rehabilitation, acquired her national certification in Chiropractic Acupuncture, and obtained a degree as a Naturopathic Physician. Dr. Garvin has also taken courses and attended seminars in the following areas: Auto Accident/Whiplash Treatment and Rehab, X-Ray and MRI Diagnosis, Work Comp Injuries, Pediatrics, Blood Work Analysis, Liver Detoxification, Jeffrey Bland Functional Medicine, Endocrine and Hormone Testing. After having worked as an associate in the Sarasota area for about five years, Dr. Garvin decided to go into private practice under the name of Bartholomew Care Chiropractic. In 2004, Dr. Garvin changed the name of her practice to Turning Point Alternative Care & Chiropractic Center denoting an alternative approach to patient care conveniently located on North Tamiami Trail in Sarasota.
